Since this primarily started out as a knitting blog I feel like I should have some knitting content in it, but I still haven't been able to knit much. I did start the Monica tank (which I'm switching to a dress) from knitty.com for *N*
http://www.knitty.com/issuespring07/PATTmonica.html
It's going to be SO boring with all the stockinette stitch, but it'll look cute so it's worth it. I just cast on 14 more stitches than the pattern called for and did the edge in seed stitch and will decrease a few times until it's long enough to start the top. I plan on picking up stitches at the bottom and making a ruffle on the bottom to match the top. I'm using tangerine colored cotton fleece for the dress and I ordered two different pinks so I'll see which one I like best with the orange for the ruffle.
Since we aren't going to be able to go on our beach house vacation this fall (which I'll miss horribly!) we are going to NJ to see my dad and step mom the end of May. My dad bought a "weekend house" two houses down from his current house and it just got finished so we'll stay in that. It's beautiful and he really wants us to stay there and we wouldn't normally make two trips down in one year so this will actually work out perfectly! The weather is warm enough to go swimming in May, but it shouldn't be unbareably hot so we'll be able to visit some cool zoos and other things in the area. So I'm really looking forward to it and the 8 hour trip is perfect for knitting boring stockinette!

And a baby makes SEVEN!
That's right- I am 10 weeks 4 days pregnant. I saw the baby on ultrasound last week and I'm further along than both my miscarriages so we told the kids on Sunday and now am telling everyone else. My due date is Sept 6 but I always deliver a month or more early so I'm aiming for August 8th- 08-08-08. I aimed for that with *Z* 03-03-03, but he couldn't wait so his b-day is Feb 23rd. This is why so little knitting has gotten done, it makes me feel car sick! Crochet isn't as bad, so I managed a bit of that here and there. So hopefully as I get further along I'll feel better and keep up on my blog more. =) Here's a picture from *A* birthday last week. Not one of my better cakes, but he was happy.

Birthday month
Due to poor (or really good, depending on how you look at it!) planning on our part we have 4 birthdays in a span of five weeks!! Matt's was Saturday and *A's* is on Friday *J's* is15 days later and *N's* is 16 days later! So we kicked off the weekend with Matt's birthday. And poor guy even though he begins the birthday season- he usually doesn't get a cake for his birthday since we know we'll be SOOOOO tired of birthday cake by March so he gets a dirt cake or ice cream cake or something like that. But this year he requested a cheesecake, so I searched allrecipes.com (great site- go there if you don't already!!) and found NY cheesecake 3 and boy it was delicious!! With TWO and ONE-HALF POUNDS of cream cheese it should've been. It's been a tradition with the kids to get him a T-shirt. The first year when our oldest was 3 he drew a nice picture and we put it on transfer paper and ironed it onto a plain white T-shirt. One year it was superman, one year the general lee (dukes of hazzard), etc This year *J* was in a mood when we went to pick out T-shirts and he was insistant on a black T-shirt that says "sorry, I'm taken" with a ball and chain on it. So we did. I doubt he'll wear it out of the house, but it's a funny work shirt. (Matt's MUCH older than me! Well not MUCH, but I'm not hitting 35 yet at ALL!!)

And back on some knitting content finally!! I've been eyeing the start blanket that I saw on Ravelry. It's crocheted and I don't crochet the best, but I figured I'd give it a try. It is SO easy and SO cool. I love it! I started a olive green one for my cousin who's expecting a bonus baby 9 years after her youngest was born =) They have four girls so I figure even if this baby is a girl, she certainly wouldn't mind if it's not pink and frilly. So I"m making it with Vanna's choice yarn and if the baby is a girl I'll edge it with pink scallops, if it's a boy I'll edge it in tan. I only had one skein of yarn so I need to get more.
I had two skeins of simply soft in sage and dark sage so I decided to make them into a star blanket as well (must've been in a green mood that day I bought yarn!) I used up all the sage green so I'll just keep using the dark sage until it's gone and then call it done. It's already a decent newborn size so however much bigger it gets will just be a bonus. So many people at church are pregnant and one lady knows she's having her second boy so this will probably be for her. I may make a few other neutral ones and edge them in blue or pink once the baby is born. *N* wanted her unicorn in the picture for one =)

Cute contest
Check out this contest- what a cute idea! I love guessing games. No I don't get anything for sending you there, but it was such a fun thing I'm sending you anyway and lowering my own chances of winning =)

I'm overwhelmed and it's not even MY yarn- the blogger said it's all the same yarn and same color. Must go back and see if she owns a yarn store.
And since I need a picture- here's one of *N* on Monday. We had a gorgeous sunny day, but with the snow it makes it too bright for the younger two kids eyes so *Z* had on ski goggles and *N* has on her purple sunglasses. Little Miss Hollywood was helping pull the sled back up the driveway. She was so proud of herself she kept saying "I'm a really good helper aren't I mommy?" And here's a closer up one of her getting ready to throw a snowball at me. I was scrolling through my blog (lame, I know) and wow! our driveway looks SO much nicer snowcovered than mudcovered!! =)

This and that and this and that
This has been one of the worse weather winters in a long time. We've gotten feet of snow dumped on us 5-6 different times (in addition to the mere inches on a somewhat daily basis). Yesterday it got a bit warm, but then right as everyone as leaving for work school it began to freeze rain and there were so many accidents. A school bus tipped over on the road a few minutes away. Pick up trucks off all over- and the county had a travel advisory so even though Matt made it to work he works for the county and they ground all the cars if there is a travel advisory and since Matt goes to his clients he was just stuck at the office all day. Same thing today. It was over 32 degrees when we got up this morning and raining- and then not even 20 minutes later it's snowing and windy! So everything is a sheet of ice. And yes I'm complaining! =) I hate being cold and snow is pretty, but it's COLD. And I've done nothing useful lately other than clean. We are in the process of getting estimates for our addition so that'll be fun once they start rolling in. We did decide to use existing space and finish off our full attic rather than build off the end of the house. Hopefully that's much cheaper! Our house looks like a Cape Cod from the outside but doesn't have the nice dormers in the roof to make it look nice. This is similar to what our house will look like when it's finsihed (minus the garage!)

And this is kind of what it looks like now- well kinda- we have a much higher pitch on our roof so it's even steeper!

So that'll be a nice change, plus we'll have two new (large) bedrooms
